Graystone's History
Graystone Companies, LLC was co-founded by Kirk Johnson and Shivon Dosky in 2015. The two had spent over a decade working together on various projects in every stage of development.
After several successful developments, redevelopments, and acquisitions in Virginia, Graystone has expended its reach to Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. With continued growth, Graystone's leadership team has expanded to ensure optimum performance.
Kirk Johnson, MAI, Partner
Kirk has thirty-five years of commercial and residential real estate development, appraisal, brokerage, consulting, and ownership experience. Kirk has rezoned, developed, leased and managed properties including residential subdivisions, industrial warehouse/distribution, office, hotels, and retail properties.
As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Graystone, Kirk provides the vision and leadership for overall property development planning, market research, acquisitions, and finance. Prior to forming Graystone, Kirk worked with William C. Harvey & Associates, specializes in expert witness testimony and is qualified in many courts.
Kirk serves on Virginia Tech’s Business School’s Department of Finance Advisory Board, Department of Real Estate Advisory Board, and routinely speaks as a guest lecturer in Virginia Tech Real Estate Classes.
Shivon Dosky, Partner
Shivon has thirty-five years of business experience and has founded, managed, grown and successfully exited five previous businesses. Shivon has developed, acquired, renovated, built, leased, and managed residential, commercial, and hotel properties.
As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Graystone, Shivon provides vision and leadership for property development and renovation, P&L management, and exit strategies.
A graduate of Virginia Tech in Electrical Engineering, Shivon has served on Virginia Tech's Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Advisory Board.
Brent Agramonte-Harper, Acquisitions & Development Manager
Brent joined Graystone in 2019 to support the company's multi-family growth plans. Since joining, Graystone and its affiliate entities have seen impressive portfolio growth.
Prior to joining Graystone, Brent had over fifteen years managing construction projects, including ten years managing community associations at FirstService Residential, North America's largest association management company.
Brent provides leadership in underwriting and assessing property conditions for new acquisitions. Brent's experience managing projects, knowledge of building components, and technological proficiency is instrumental in capital projects and assessing new acquisitions.
Brandon Porterfield, Project Manager
Brandon joined Graystone in 2022 to manage its growing portfolio of multi-family assets.
Brandon has over twenty years of multi-family maintenance and project management experience, including 5+ years with Scion Group.
Brandon oversees all Graystone construction projects, including new builds and renovations. He also manages all aspects of Graystone's physical assets.
Patrizia Bernal, Controller
With a rich background in accounting and finance, Patrizia Bernal serves as Controller for Graystone Companies, where she expertly manages the financial operations for 10 distinct entities. Her role encompasses a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including interfacing with property management companies, managing all A/R and A/P, overseeing construction contract billing, to preparing intricate financial reports.
Prior to joining Graystone, Patrizia Worked at M.L. Straight Painting in Warrenton, VA as a Staff Accountant. During her 15 years with M.L. Straight Painting, she was instrumental in streamlining financial processes, ensuring tax compliance, and timely contract billing.
In her native country, Venezuela, she worked in the accounting field while pursuing her bachelor's degree in accounting from Santa Maria University. Patrizia is bilingual; English-Spanish.
